To live, to really and truly and wholly live in a life that looks nothing like you thought it would, asks for full surrender. A laying down of all we carry that was handed to us by the outside world, not with mal intent, but because the voices of fear labeled it as protection. Acceptance from our family or the community we grew in meant survival for a time.

And so we try, we try to train our being to wind it’s way around these support structures, not really turning awareness to the strong and steady stem that remains the source of life force that is truly keeping us alive. It doesn’t demand attention or recognition, it quietly waits for our awareness. At one point or another, maybe when the pain becomes too great, maybe when loss has us on our knees, maybe when we just sense it’s time to listen deeper…we start to notice the stem. All the nourishment we need for life, present and flowing within it. And slowly we unwind from the support structures that kept us unnaturally shaped and we allow for a wild trailing to begin, for growth to follow where it feels like the warmth of the sun, for our roots to reach deeper in only when the soil is nourishing. Every decision made by following these laws of nature. Trusting in our ability to recognize how to unfold. It is vulnerable, it is full of dichotomy, and sometimes a lot of guilt and fear, and it is also full of moments of such joy and such ease and such a solid connection to self governance, that there is no other choice but to lay down all the untruths and surrender.

And this is where a horse meets us. This is where Nature meets us. This where Truth meets us. This where Self meets us. Our job is in the returning, again and again until that pathway becomes well tread.

The Sacred Woods Community is a care farm and learning space where people and animals come together to support growth, wellbeing, and meaningful human connection. Through nature-based and experiential learning opportunities, we help individuals, teams, and organizations cultivate healthier ways of living, working, and leading.

We are beginning to host a monthly meetup for Neurodiverse Youth and their families. This meetup is offered by donation to the land and animals. Please message us if you plan to join.

Kristin (care farm steward) has always known there is a multi species community forming here, one that holds values for inclusion and the freedom to be just as we are. The animals don’t judge and they can’t lie. So many spaces require folks to be a little less of something…quieter, stiller bodies, less visible disregulation. Here, magic unfolds when the animals are allowed to be just as they are, not valued for their use. And here, people are also valued just as they are. The environment is deeply regulating just by nature. Everyone here has choice and autonomy and is never asked to ignore instinct. And when you are neurodiverse, there is a very strong connection to those things. The animals understand that way of being, they live it too. Their inner truth sensor is very accurate.

So…come as you are, come to play, come to observe, come to connect in the way that feels right. We can’t wait for you to discover the freedom of this realm.

Hosted by Shay of @sensitivesoulspace and held in safe container by the land and the animals, you are invited to come and discover your inner realms…to remember your place it in it all, to feel the freedom and the peace that allows for expansion. I’m opening a small number of pilot sessions at The Sacred Woods.

This is something I’ve been building patiently, waiting for clarity to come. The Sacred Woods is a multi species community and a space with a different set of cultural norms.

Here, animals are never asked to override their instinct.
They move when they want to move, they come close when it feels right, they step away when it doesn’t.

Nothing is expected of them.

And most of us…
have been taught to do the opposite.

To override instinct.
To be agreeable.
To perform.
To belong by becoming what’s needed.

So this space offers something different.

We LISTEN MORE THAN WE LEAD.
We don’t force interaction.
We don’t ask anything to perform or give.

We slow down, notice, and allow connection to unfold—if and when it’s offered.

And in that, people begin to reconnect with something deeper…their own instinct and their own truth. The animals don’t judge, they mirror and respond to our internal environment. All of you is welcome here, you are already enough. This experience connects you to the instinctual, authentic self underneath the performance. The animals wait to meet you here. What would it feel like not to override your instinct?

Though you continued on land and were met in the dark with thorns that catch and the forbode of dead fall across the path…walk lightly now. You have sketched the map, you have known the Way Finders. When next you enter the sea, when next you are called down the darkened path…you do not go alone. You are staying with you, you will never leave. You will never be left. Through working with animals, nature, and community, I’m passionate about creating a place where people can find peace, rediscover themselves, and feel supported every step of the way.
